"Iraq: A Place of Ambivalence"
Posted by Bill A journalist mourns Iraq's descent into violence and castigates popular absolutist narratives: That's what drives me crazy about the whole American discussion of Iraq now: it's treated as being so damned simple, when, if you care about the Iraqis at all, it's anything but. Quite true. The same goes for caring about American military personnel, American foreign policy and the fate of the region, among other things. Read the whole thing.
