Meatspace: Overrated
Posted by Bill Having recently purchased both an HDTV and a home digital media center/video game system, I'll dub this the "XBox 360 Effect:" Social Isolation Growing in U.S., Study Says Sure, maybe I've cut off all ties to the outside world, shunning fresh breezes, sunshine and human contact for hours upon hours upon hours of wild-eyed digital titillation, clad only in a holey pair of ochre jockey briefs and a slippery, thick film of my unwashed filth, finely frosted with a dusting of pretzel crumbs and dried cheese salsa. But "no one to confide in?" My fellow Ghost Recon players know all of my deepest, most sincere feelings about how I OWNED THEIR ASS LOL HOW'S THAT LEAD SAMMICH TASTE, YOU SILLY LITTLE BITCH?! I've never felt so connected. Posted by Bill at June 23, 2006 09:21 AM | TrackBack (0) Trackback PingsTrackBack URL for this entry: CommentsCould you keep it down, please? I'm looking for the Dwarven Warhammer with +10pt Fire Damage and Restore Fatigue: Constant Effect. A word of warning. Don't play Oblivion if you ever wish to copulate with the opposite sex. Luckily for me, I'm already married so that's not anything I'm not used to. Posted by: Robb Allen at June 23, 2006 10:10 AM Ochre? I mean, come on! Ochre? Posted by: Boyd Yeah, Boyd, that made me mutter "ew, gross" more than the dried cheese salsa image did. Posted by: TC@LeatherPenguin at June 23, 2006 11:06 AM Ochre? I mean, come on! Ochre? Well, they were a bright lime green when I bought them. Posted by: Bill from INDC at June 23, 2006 11:20 AM My comment was going to be about Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but I see that niche has already been filled. Except replace "copulate" with "speak to". Or, concatenate, rather. Posted by: j.d. at June 23, 2006 01:03 PM j.d. What's surprising is even the Scroll of Charm I snatched from the chapel in Kvatch doesn't seem to work on the Mrs. Posted by: Robb Allen at June 23, 2006 02:07 PM I most likely lost the woman that I should have married at the hands of the Russian campaign in the original Panzer General. It was worth it. Posted by: Bill from INDC at June 23, 2006 02:10 PM From the "Yeah it's old but it's relevant" video section. Posted by: dorkafork at June 23, 2006 02:40 PM Count me as another that is currentlyh lost in Oblivion. On the plus side if did break my World of Warcraft addiction.
