Star Wars TV Show is a Go

Posted by Dorkafork

It'll be a year and a half before it comes out, though.

Could be good: Firefly & Battlestar Galactica show it's possible to do excellent sci-fi on TV. Rick McCallum also produced the Young Indy series, which I heard was decent. It's always nice to see a lightsaber duel. And most importantly, Lucas does not appear to be involved in the creative process.* (Hopefully they'll use some of the writers from KOTOR.)

On the other hand: The Star Wars series TV show track record leaves much to be desired.

(This is still my favorite fan film, though the first half is skippable.)

*UPDATE: I feel a disturbance in the Force.

Troops is the best fan film. I enjoyed it more than all three prequals combined.

Let's just hope that George Lucas's role is limited to cashing checks.

Troops is great, like the Tom Servo cameo. This also has it's moments. 2 moments to be exact. Vader's "A New Hope" entrance about a third of the way in and the name of his Super Star Destroyer shortly after that.

What's shocking to me is that imdb lists both ewok tv movies as getting emmys. (Apparently, the 80s were a time of great desperation in the land of television.)

On a side note, Reciprocity is the best fan flick, despite its sound issues and occasionally anachronistic sets and costumes. :)

(these guys later made Recruitment, which was polished and funnier, but not as deep)

Why oh why did you have to link to a page about the Star Wars Holiday Special? Even reading about it on IMDB left me writhing in agony . . .

It's too late. You can't just pretend there are no midichloreans.
