Mission: Unfreakingbelievable
Posted by Dorkafork Interesting piece on the CIA Milan rendition here. (via Daniel Drezner) Interesting in a "beat your head against a wall" sort of way. The trick is known to just about every two-bit crook in the cellular age: If you don't want the cops to know where you are, take the battery out of your cell phone when it's not in use. Much much more in the story, including many instances of the highly trained CIA secret agents constantly using their real names. One operative made sure when checking into hotels to hand over her frequent flyer number, so as to receive extra credit for her hotel stay. "You're licensed to kill, not get frequent flier miles" or... "The Man Who Flew Too Much." Happy New Year, everybody! Haven't you people seen Wag the Dog? Posted by: Ghost of a flea at January 1, 2006 08:08 PM So we can conclude that the incompetent Valerie Plame really was among their best? Posted by: Robin Roberts at January 1, 2006 09:25 PM Robin, THAT is truly a horrifying thought... Posted by: PSGInfinity at January 2, 2006 01:17 PM So, not only did they do something that was ballsy, extroardinarily illegal, and probably morally wrong, they did it shoddily, too? Cute. Posted by: TallDave at January 3, 2006 10:30 AM Just occurred to me: "Beck. John Beck." has a nice ring to it. "A Margarita. Frozen, no salt." Definite secret agent material.
