Shock!

Read the entire thing.

UPDATE: This is unbiased?

I maintain that the AP's "straight news" stories written by Terence Hunt, Ron Fournier, etc., specifically covering the White House, are the most ridiculously biased and distorted pieces of "journalism" to appear in mainstream news publications. The opinions slipped into the narrative often aren't even the least bit subtle.

The reason why the "liberal" media is to the left of the lawmakers? Because so many of the lawmakers over the past ten years have been Conservatives. Thus the media is to the left of the right-leaning people in power, not because of the LIBERAL MEDIA CONPIRACY or anything. That entire study is crooked from the start.

Uh huh:

"Overall, the major media outlets are quite moderate compared to members of Congress,

Hmmmm.

And aside from that perspective, the reason so many lawmakers have been conservatives? Why do you think that is?

Your assessment that defining the average of society via the congress as a benchmark is "crooked" is amusing, given that we are talking about the national representatives elected by the population. Can you think of vastly superior ways to establish a framework of ideological boundaries?

How about what you and your buddies down at the Jamba Juice think?

Ron, as it turns out, is a reporter from the BBC. One of his more recent articles is this one: Hamas wins in West Bank elections

Key quote: "the mainstream Fatah organisation took 13%."

Yes, that's right. The author has somehow decided that a political party that achieved only 13% of the vote is mainstream. Thus Ron probably believes that Congress is far to the right of the very voters that elected them.

the article is titled "analysis" so of course it has bias in it.

this paragraph made he chuckle:

The happy talk didn't ring true to many Americans, who watched in horror as the U.S. death toll climbed above 2,000 and wondered why Bush refused to take time off from his summer vacation to meet with the mother of a slain soldier. Cindy Sheehan became the grim face of a budding anti-war movement.

using terms like "horror" and "grim face" are so obvious.
