Holy crap that's funny.

"do you hear pancakes?"

We've all been there.

Posted by: Bill from INDC at November 17, 2005 11:47 PM

Hah!

Posted by: SeanH at November 18, 2005 12:22 AM

You know, hubris, it IS possible to mention Brer Ted without bringing up the mary Jo Kopekne incident.

Or maybe not.

Posted by: Madscientist at November 18, 2005 12:50 AM

LOL!
Hmm, I *do* hear pancakes calling me.

Posted by: rbj at November 18, 2005 08:21 AM

It is also possible to step over homeless drunks without kicking them, but what fun is that?

Posted by: B Moe at November 18, 2005 08:21 AM

Hee hee, that was brilliant.

Posted by: SarahW at November 18, 2005 09:13 AM

what? does ted like to drink?

Posted by: ebird at November 18, 2005 10:04 AM

Aww Poor Ted, I bet this whole thing totally ruined his buzz.

Posted by: Shinobi at November 18, 2005 10:43 AM

The fourth caption down is just fucked up. It is tasteless, inconsiderate, and nothing but trash. I fail to see why Republicans think it is funny to make light of a tragic death.

I have YET to see a Democrat or liberal joke about how Laura Bush caused the death of her friend in a car accident.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/laura.asp

Though, I see Republicans make light of the Kennedy accident all the time.

The party of "morals and values", my ass.

Posted by: Heywood Jablome at November 18, 2005 03:54 PM

Hmmm. Perhaps.

I find swimming away from the scene of an accident and not reporting it to police more offensive, myself.

Also: midget porn. Disturbingly exploitative, on several levels.

Posted by: Bill from INDC at November 18, 2005 04:00 PM

Correction, it is the fifth caption, sorry about that.

And in response to the swimming from the accident thing...

Laura Bush broke the law by running a stop sign. You can make all the excuses you want. Mocking either issue is tastless, regardless of political affliation. I'm speaking as a registered independent here.

Posted by: Heywood Jablome at November 18, 2005 04:36 PM

Who's making excuses? I think Hubris (the author) is a miserable human being.

You know what else gets my goat? Jokes about Polish people. And retards. And J-e-w-s. And Retarded Polish Jews. I mean, am I right, or am I right?

Posted by: Bill from INDC at November 18, 2005 04:54 PM

Dumbass:

It is tasteless, inconsiderate, and nothing but trash.

Thanks, that's what I was going for.

I have YET to see a Democrat or liberal joke about how Laura Bush caused the death of her friend in a car accident.

You don't get out much.

Mocking either issue is tastless, regardless of political affliation.

Comedy is tragedy plus time, dude. I don't make the rules.

By the way, I'm not a Republican.

And as for blowing you, it's gonna cost ya.

Posted by: Hubris at November 18, 2005 05:02 PM

"You don't get out much."

Ok, then show me shome evidence.

Until I see evidence otherwise, I have no reason to believe your statement that it is rampant. And that is what you mean by "You don't get out much" isn't is?

So then, how about backing up that statement with some evidence? I'm more than willing to change my position if I actually see evidence of your claim.

some*

Posted by: Heywood Jablome at November 18, 2005 05:48 PM

Examples from a quick search of Washington Monthly, a liberal site I frequent:

----------------------------------
I think they both look great. Good for them. She doesn't have that glazed look Laura B unfortunately specializes in (making me think of the guy she killed).
---------------------------------
In all fairness, Laura Bush does suck at math. In high school, you may remember, she botched one of those "Two cars leave from Point A and Point B, traveling towards each other at certain speeds. At what point will they meet?" questions.
[That one's pretty funny, actually]
---------------------------------
Trust me, if Happy Laura the Xanax Pill Popper ever entered a demolition derby, I'd have a fiver on her.
---------------------------------
Crash, by Laura Bush
Cocaine Nights, by Pres. George W. Bush

[from a list of proposed book titles]
---------------------------------

In general, if you think "tasteless" humor varies according to party affiliation, I don't know what to tell you, other than to speculate that you might not get out too much.

Posted by: Hubris at November 18, 2005 06:15 PM

Thank you.

Now I just think you're all low-life scumbags on this issue.

Anyone who makes a joke out of either indicent has serious issues. Period.

if you think "tasteless" humor varies according to party affiliation

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't I say..."Mocking either issue is tastless, regardless of political affliation"

Oh and I'm sorry but I do think, on the whole, the Repubs are more tasteless than the Dems.

Purple Heart bandaids at a national convention??

Yea, I'd have to say that is slightly more tasteless.

The party of "morals and values", my ass.

Remember how I never said "rampant" but you took it as my meaning? Inference is a bitch, ain't it?

Purple Heart bandaids at a national convention??
Yea, I'd have to say that is slightly more tasteless.

"More" is a comparative term. More tasteless than what? Anything any Democrats have ever done? Not that I particularly give a shit; as I said, I'm not a Republican.

Now I just think you're all low-life scumbags on this issue.

Uh, yeah. Unlike someone who takes it upon themselves to come into a comment thread and scold me about a joke that, without the inclusion of the word "fucking," wouldn't be considered outrageous in a Jay Leno monologue.

Take your offended delicate sensibilities somewhere else. Perhaps you can set up a little kingdom where you will get to be the arbiter of That Which Is Okay To Joke About. I'm sure it would be a delightful place.

I have eaten quite a few of both, and I would have to concede this point, but you have to admit having hippie chicks on your side kind of skews the numbers.

Posted by: B Moe at November 19, 2005 12:07 AM

I'm surprised Heywood managed to get up and move the goalposts after that spanking.

Posted by: Matt Moore at November 19, 2005 02:16 AM

Well, if the point of that statement was to prove you are delusional then good job. Let me know the next time you see that type of shit on Jay Leno

Anyways, don't you have a corpse to laugh at somewhere? Fuckhead.

Now that is funny! Though I will note I'm not a Democrat. Truth be told, I'm a libertarian.

Sadly, it now the Democrats where we must look to to vote for the "lesser of two evils".

Good job fucking that one up ya schumucks.

schmucks*

Anyways, don't you have a corpse to laugh at somewhere?

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that you had this much trouble understanding the world around you. I should have been more patient.

You see, I didn't make fun of the woman who died; rather, the slide contained the novel suggestion that under his self-righteous exterior, Kennedy is just a simple asshole. This concept should sound very familiar to you.

I'll include a flow chart explaining everything next time.

What's this "we" shit, Heywood?
