There's A Simple Explanation For This

Posted by Hubris

Miers didn't say that Griswold was "rightly decided"; rather, she said that it was "slightly misguided." Or "rightly derided." Pay attention, Specter!

I, for one, am confident that the confirmation hearings are going to go extremely well.

Well, what do you expect??? A senator to listen to someone other than himself? That she actually was able to recover enough time to actually answer one of those insufferably long questions they are so good at asking, impresses the heck out of me.

I thought it was "sprightly recited" myself.

Yes, but is it a SUPER DUPER precedent?

No, no, no. It wasn't Specter who was confused, it was Miers. She thought Specter was asking about the Griswold family, and whether they should indeed have gone to Wally World. She said she thought that Clark had decided rightly, and that's where the confusion came from!
