Mugabe's Speech

Posted by Dorkafork

In case you're wondering how Mugabe's speech at the FAO hunger conference (mentioned earlier) went, if the speech he gave represented the ideals of the UN or was perhaps a touching look back at the good work the FAO has done over the past 60 years, well... no. He called Bush (and Blair) Hitler:

"Must we allow these men, the two unholy men of our millennium, who in the same way as Hitler and Mussolini formed (an) unholy alliance ... to attack an innocent country?" he said, occasionally gesticulating for emphasis.
"Where are their democratic tenets? Where is their morality? Where is their compliance with the salient principles of good government?" Mugabe said.

Did The Onion sponsor his speech? This is beyond parody.

And I thought Mugabe admired Hitler.

Don't discount Mugabe's statements off hand. We grouse at the MSM and their pseudo-experts. If there is anyone alive today that is an expert in that kind of behavior, it's Robert Mugabe.

The kicker in that speech, not reproduced here, is when Mugabe grouses about First World agriculture subsidies. Maybe Zimbabwe's ag sector would be more competitive if he was frickin' killing all the white farmers.

It was all a big misunderstanding actually. He didn't know the goal FAO wanted to end hunger, or he never would have shown up.

I think the pot just called the kettle...wait, is it okay for me to finish that sentence?
