Pink Floyd Reunited at Live 8
Posted by Bill (First link via IP) Posted by Bill at July 5, 2005 08:28 AM | TrackBack (0) CommentsI'll get excited when Roger Waters shows up. Posted by: Beck He's right there. Click on the link. Posted by: Bill from INDC I've had enough Pink Floyd to last a lifetime. "The Wall" hasn't been out of the cupboard in 25 years. David Gilmour was a cutey back in the day, though. Posted by: floridacracker There you go, getting all "factual" on me. Hey, what do you know, I'm actually a little excited now. In a very non-sexual way, I mean. Naturally. Posted by: Beck Bill, I'm hosting the full set over at my site if you'd like to download it. And that goes for the commenters. Cheers. :) Posted by: Nathan Lanier Oh, and I should mention that it's audio. Posted by: Nathan Lanier It would be too cool if they could put aside their differences and come up with one more album of the quality of their classic period (Dark Side thru The Wall). Not that their earlier work was bad either, but clearly they raised the bar for themselves. Maybe it's only wishful thinking, but something tells me they still have it in them. Roger - who was clearly the main obstacle to a reunion in the past (he rebuffed several overtures from Gilmour over the years) - seemed to be the one having the best time on stage, and the one who wanted to pose with his arms around the others at the end of the set. I read that all four of them had dinner together the week before the concert - with their wives - which sounds like another hopeful sign. Posted by: LagunaDave LagunaDave has the right take on events, although I believe of what I saw of their set, was sub par. Although, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page have already proven otherwise, it's a good bet to think a reunited Gilmour/Waters songwriting collaboration have worthy songs to hear. People can diss and dismiss these guys as 'dinosaurs', but Clapton has never sang better and Keith Richards has never played better guitar. Posted by: thatcoloredfella |
