The Bandit Goes Slap-Happy

Posted by Bill

Hilarious, and more than a bit bizarre:

NEW YORK (CBS) Actor Burt Reynolds slapped a CBS assistant producer in the face at a movie premiere in New York City.

The producer was asking Reynolds, 69, about his new movie "The Longest Yard" outside the premiere in Chelsea Tuesday night when the actor became annoyed.

"You don't know anything about the movie?" Reynolds asked.

The producer acknowledged he hadn't seen it or the original 1974 version. Reynolds then slapped the producer. "What ... kind of guy are you?" he asked.

From experience, I can assure you that slapping around CBS News is a singularly satisfying endeavor. (Metaphorically in my case, of course)

(That gem via Goldstein, who has his own take)

Burt Reynolds? Heck, I thought that was Farrah Fawcett with short hair. If you stretch that facial skin tight enough all elderly actors start to look alike. While I'm at it, if that was a slap, then this comment is a dissertation. If that producer was a mosquito, he'd have flown away without losing anything more than his dignity. CBS, quit picking on the elderly...first you cancel Dan R's current Wednesday night gig and now this. Where will it all end?

over the years, Burt has displayed the characteristics of a perscription pill addict.
