The Nation: Finger on the Pulse of America

Ha: "Blue-collar Kucinich is the only one who can win back the blue-collar Reagan Democrats. Imagine him in a debate with Dubya. It would be a knockout in the first round, & we'd have an honest-to-God working-class President. Kucinich is the man to light the fire." Posted by Bill at April 8, 2005 11:13 AM | TrackBack (0) CommentsWHY or why do these pampered morons keep imagining themselves the "champions" of the "working class"? Why the tired old class war paradigm anyway? Is this really the only straw they can grasp? Sorry for the rhetoricals.. Posted by: cassandra That's why OH why..
Posted by: cassandra Hey, let's give Dennis a little credit. On the subject of the banning of orbital mind control satellites, he's far and away the congressional leader. Posted by: Evil Otto For the answer to your question, cassandra, try googling vanguard of the proletariat. And, other than the facts that blue-collar people in the United States are no proletariat and Dennis Kucinich is no vanguard, they're probably right. Posted by: Dave Schuler You mean he isn't going to be the nominee in 2008? Posted by: ThomasJackson All the members of my writing group in Berkeley are Kucinich moonbats. They're nice people, but not one of them has ever read even a bonehead economics book. Posted by: beautifulatrocities The only way Kucinich could be called "blue collared" would be if he rammed himself shoulder-deep into one of the Blue Man Group's ass. Posted by: TC-LeatherPenguin "Bush & his colleagues are exhilarated & thrilled by the thought of war, the violence, the killing, the blood, the deaths, the horror Why do they want this war so much? Why do some people want to be whipped by a dominatrix? Why did Hitler want to kill the Jews? Why do some people collect coins? Why do some people collect stamps?"- Wallace Shawn, March 2003 Why does anyone read the Nation? Why is Wallace Shawn's thinking as backwards as his name? Why can't liberals make an argument without invoking Hitler? Why isn't Wallace Shawn on the Psychic Network if he can see so clearly into George Bush's soul? How many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?
Posted by: The Warden I passed Dennis in the hallway of Rayburn House office building once last fall. The man is like a humanoid version of the cartoon dog Droopy. About the same height, too. Posted by: dillene He'll need a lot more dosh behind him to be a credible candidate for 2008. He could start raising funds now by selling ad space on his ears. Why can't liberals make an argument without invoking Hitler? Partly because a few decades of leftists have wanted us to forget that Nazism was leftist, and partly because they've been successful. Given that the ideology was never really critically examined in this country, and given the leftist prevalence in education and media, it hasn't been hard. Then there's the "argument of last refuge" element. When left without another argument, this is the one that you're not supposed to be able to defend yourself from; being Hitler is indefensible. Since populism offers a pretty shallow basis for argumentation, it's not surprosing if liberals tend to wind up at Hitler in short order. The usual caveat of course is that you have to accept the equivalence uncritically. Posted by: Doug Chemtrails. That'll be Kucinich's winning issue. Posted by: Roberts If only someone would kindly introduce these people to reality. They clearly live in a different world than I. Posted by: Beck following a sterling performance as Mayor of Cleveland, Kucinich is now a post-op Raelian. Posted by: Glenn Bowen Bill, thanks for posting that picture. This is the first time I've noticed that Kucinich is a Ferengi. Posted by: gail Friggin' hilarious. Posted by: Will Franklin |
