The featured guest on this Thurday's Citizen Journalist Report will be Glenn Reynolds. If you have a burning question that you've always wanted to ask the Instapundit, leave a comment and I just might use it.

Those of you that are too lazy or apathetic to register an ID for my commenting software can e-mail me.

The guys from QandO have just begun a journal on what they call "NeoLibertarianism" that includes a less isolationist foriegn policy, a willingness to compromise on some issues and attempt to develop a broader base;(http://www.qando.net/articles/tnlv1i1.pdf)
as a self-described Libertarian yourself, do you agree with these measures and what do you think we can do to make the Party more viable in Presidential elections?
Additionally...dude, what's up with the cat blogging? I mean...seriously.

Luv ya, love your show...

Anyway, my question:

The Instapundant is doing a great job documenting the recent rash of liberty and democracy movements that are breaking out around the world. This seems unprecedented in recent history, and almost beyond belief.

Does Glenn think that these movements are for the most part, organic? Are they possibly triggered by the free and uncontrollable access to information that the internet provides?

And/or, could these events be an intentional and deliberate part of the US’s global war on terror?

We know that a few decades ago, the CIA was quite proficient at fomenting civil unrest and insurrection. Could there be a few experienced old timers still around who know how to pull this stuff off?

And as a follow up, does it even matter how these things come about?

I just thought of a catchy phrase that might go along with my previous questions. You can be the editor here, and figure out how best to use it on the fly on Thursday.

“Could this be war by other means?”

As Tim Worstall wrote on Tech Central Station ("Speak Uneasy"), US bloggers may find themselves sued in other countries for libel, just by dint of being downloaded in that country. Many other countries do not have the free speech protections that we have in the US. The financial burdens of defense in foreign courts can be ruinous, and may lead to US bloggers being intimidated or silenced by foreign nationals. Many major US corporations, rather than spend the hundreds of thousands for defense, have paid off foreign suers, many of whom probably recognize a revenue opportunity (almost as good as Nigerian bank accounts held in the email recipient's name, if the recipient will just send a few thousand dollars for processing). This, surely, cannot be the intention of US law. Shouldn't bloggers mount a major education campaign about this threat to US freedom of speech, and pressure our legislators to take notice? What sort of protections under US law can be drafted?

Bruce,
That’s a very good question. I was going to suggest asking Glenn how to get him to link to me more often, but I think you’ve actually found a real question.
Bill, you certainly don’t have to bring my name into it, but I do think it would be interesting to ask Reynolds what he thinks of the situation. He is a lawyer after all. In a nutshell, several recent cases show that pieces are subject to the defamation laws in the country where they are downloaded. What does he think might be the solution to this problem?

No Q's for Glenn, but an idea:

Have you and Jeff considered wacky 'zoo crew' nicknames, ala "The Wiz" or say "Fuzzer?" Perhaps working them into the show's name Citizen Journalist's Report with "The Wiz and Fuzzer!" Perhaps a total name retooling. "Afternoons with The Wiz and Fuzzer!" Not trying to force this down your throats. You two can pick which one's "The Wiz", who's "Fuzzer." Your call. Also, one your first show, you didn't take requests. I heard very little Zepplin. Are you guys avoiding the classic stuff entirely?

Just my thoughts.
