Apparently

... the humor category of the "Jewish Israeli Blogger Awards" competition turned nasty, with one of the participants sniping at Jeff Goldstein for being "neither Jewish nor funny." Ouch. As a response, in a true-blue six-pointed star fashion, Goldstein has decided to go "Six Day War" on their asses.

As a big fan of bloody smiting, I'll ask you to give him a hand.

Personally, I'm awaiting the Secular Humanist Italian-Irish-American Blogging Awards (the "SecWopMickeys") with great anticipation.

I was wondering why we couldn't have agnostic awards myself. In my case, the AgKrautMic awards.

JoeR: Make it just the KrautMic awards and we'll have a pair for competition purposes...

...and he probably doesn't have an academic degree in comedy! ;-)

Jeff is acting like a child and so are you.

Posted by: Yehudit [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 10, 2005 07:12 PM

A friend of yours?

No, I'm just having a bit of fun. Your buddy personally attacking someone because he was bitter about losing a silly award strikes me as childish.

Posted by: Bill from INDC [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 10, 2005 07:47 PM

Um, how exactly am I acting like a child, Judith?

All I did was go over to look at some of the other sites in my category, and I find someone who doesn't know me taking a shot at me.

I also asked Dave L, the contest organizer, to remove protein wisdom from the contest -- precisely to avoid this kind of stupid pettiness.

So again, how exactly am I acting like a child?

I don't know any of the people involved personally. Never met them.

Jeff, this is childish.
This is childish.

BTW I read you every day and I voted for you. But you're still being childish.

But thanks for the link.

No, Judith, those were jokes -- both in response to what a couple visitors wrote either on my site or about my site.

For the record: I don't care about this contest! I've asked twice to be removed, but Dave L. seems like a nice guy who put in a lot of work to get this thing up and running, and he's asked me to stay.

Many of the sites involved with this contest put up sticky posts begging for votes. I made a joke out of it. And a joke out of how seriously people are taking it. That's all.

God I'm tired of painfully sanctimonious, uptight folks.

Posted by: Bill from INDC [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 10, 2005 09:36 PM

Also, let me add that I TOOK DOWN the crying baby post because I didn't want to start any stupid blog war, but then DovBear asked me -- both privately and publically -- to put the post back up.

For the traffic, I guess.

I am a giver, Yehudit. A giver.

"God I'm tired of painfully sanctimonious, uptight folks."

Me too. The amount of justification and rationalizing about trivial matters is amazing. Also, the defensiveness, to the extent of making sweeping character judgements about people you don't know.

Relax, can't you take a joke? Jeez.

COME WATCH ME GIVE!

Yehudit -

Your comment is nonsensical. As is your need to assert some sort of superiority.

And I'd say that your decision to take this thread (or Jeff's) very seriously is the mark of someone that's painfully sanctimonious and uptight.

Now go.

This is the farcial followup to the unfortunately dead-serious Wizbang campaign, I guess.
