On the chance that you're not joking, I'd like to disagree.

By all means, LINK to his assinine attempts at logic. By not revealing his ignorance, you allow it to fester on. Certainly his is a lost cause, but every time you link, someone might join him in debate and persuade one of his regulars to look suspicously at the kool-aid.

I'm serious. Every link to Oliver validates him and actually puts money in his pocket. He's a clown. Debating him is like shooting fish in a barrel - he's not big enough (traffic-wise) to be a threatening or worthy target, and his mind is diseased with partisanship beyond almost anything else in the 'sphere, left or right.

It's pointless. Ignore him and watch him freak out. Put it this way - I don't consider him a worthy opponent, though sometimes an amusing target.

Even though a link from my 17th-tier blog would still give him no traffic, I hereby take the pledge.

Better yet, the world would be best served if someone would take one for the team and set up a "here's today's Oliver nonsense" blog, so there would be only one person who actually visits OW to see what he's spouting today, then report to those who are interested.

For the record, I wouldn't even bother reading the "proxy blog," because I just don't care what OW says. It's about the same as the blather spouted by that lunatic I used to pass every day when walking from the Metro stop to my office when I was working in DC. If I hadn't been forced to pass him, I wouldn't have heard anything he said, either.

Ignore him. Let his support come from the naïve and his fellow lunatics. He's certainly not worth my time, and I've wasted too much of it on him just by posting this comment.

EXCELLENT. I never link to those lefty asshats or give them much mention anyway. They simply exist for my amusement. In fact, I think using "Cousin Oliver" is dangerously close to giving him name/brand recognition, although I definitely appreciate the mockery.

I'm not sure I'd call O-Dubya racist; he plays the race card stupidly and inconsistently, but 100% of his behavior can be explained by partisanship, not racism. He's reached Hesiod-like levels of juvenile trollery.

Of course, I'd suggest laying off references to his race or weight, since those give him cover to remain self-righteous about the mockery.

I want you to note that Rebrand-Democrat (my creation, along with Rob Port), contains zero links to Oliver's blog. There is only one link to his "Brand Democrat" site, buried away in the FAQ, and it's not a link to his site... it is a link to the Google Cache of his site.

Kinda funny, considering that I think he almost gave me more visitors there with his "don't pay attention to them" post than Glenn Reynolds did when he linked.

Some astute chap over at Protein Wisdom suggested that a fitting nickname for O-Tub was the "Baghdad Blob". I sort of like it better than "Cousin Oliver", which is higher-brow than O-Tub really deserves.

I reached a no-link no-mention resolution of my own after his reaction to the Iraqi election. I won't even quote him here--it was that dumb. Instead I quoted Kerry as my example of a defeatist Democrat hoping for the Iraqis to fail. But I digress.

You know, I used to read Willis's stuff, due to Instapundit, who used to mention that Oliver was so good, he ought to be on TV. Sometime last fall, though, he just became unhinged. And while I'm on the topic, his Instapundit-bashing not only lacks sense, but is also a pretty spectacular display of ill-mannered childishness. Geez.

When I was a kid, one of the other clowns on the Bozo Show in Chicago was Oliver O. Oliver. Now Oliver Willis has become a bozo. Coincidence? I think not.

Well, you've really nailed the chubby one. His whole groove was, as Sammy in the Rat would say, to get a little attention, a little traffic. To be talked about. Like in the days of yore, when Glenn used to stroke him, encourage the poor boy, when Roly Ollie was worthy of a weekly link from the Instaone. He was once a genial, though a bit dim, liberal. Then he got Deanized and Kostipated...and the Glennster had to drop the link-hammer on the moonbat. Ouch!
