Awesome Quote
Posted by Bill John Podhoretz in the Corner: The Iraq elections are Teddy Kennedy's Vietnam. On the downside, this assessment still implies that we have up to 14 more years of Teddy Kennedy left. Unless his recent statements marked his Tet Offensive, which blessedly cuts that figure down to about 6-7, speaking literally. UPDATE: I'm referring to the man's political career, not his life. Comment appropriately or do not comment. Posted by Bill at January 30, 2005 01:51 PM | TrackBack (1) CommentsAt 73, I doubt the obsese drunk can last another fifteen years. If he does, nobody will be able understand a word the drunk says anyhow. David Posted by: David I vote we go proportionately. The Iraq invasion started just under 2 years ago, so Teddy has about two years left. That puts us right at the mid-term elections. Sounds just about right. Posted by: Beck I may be indulging in wishful thinking here, but Ted's recent comments have been so irresponsible and unhinged that I'm beginning to think he might actually be vulnerable in 2006. That will be... let's see... 32 years after the voters should have given him the boot but didn't, and 37 years after the resignation that should have happened but didn't following the censure that also should have taken place but didn't. But, hey, better late than never. Posted by: utron Comment appropriately or do not comment. Okay, I'll just skip it. Posted by: MarkX Methinks the U.S. Government, as an expression of their policy of "constructive involvement" with certain mideast leaders and personal interest in their well-being, should formally request some DNA samples from Syria's Assad (just in case of an "unfortunate accident"). |
