That's a Bad Day

Warning, naughty language and unsettling mental instability.

Actually, that guy actually sort of sounds like me trying to figure out how to record internet telephony or chat.

PS - Back up your critical files before you send a computer away for maintenance or repair.

The last time I sent my laptop in for repair (a Dell) they had me remove and keep the hard drive.

I wonder how common a practice that is...

That file is funny as hell, though.

I worked in a call center for a computer manufacturer. There was at least one a day of these types of calls. Very stressful. Hated it.

The "remove the hard drive" practice is standard for dell. In fact, they have you remove everything that wasn't factory installed... like extra RAM. That way everything that is yours stays with you.

I'm assuming you had recent personal experience that led you to post that PS. Otherwise I applaud adding a random "PSA" PS to your posts and hope you make it a regular feature.

PS - If you ever get caught on fire: Stop, drop, and roll.

Funny you should mention that. I was in the process of sending my notebook back because the AC cord kept losing contact and before I could finish backing up my files (ran out of disks), Windows crashed.

It't under warranty, but with all the myriad parts to a computer to be done in by a bad power cord connection????

Oh well. Doesn't do to complain. As my husband said, look at the those poor people in L.A. on their way to work, taking public transportation like good little lefties and a poor protected minority decides to not kill himself afterall, better to kill a bunch of strangers instead.

Have a nice weekend everybody and pray those brave people going out to vote in Iraq and our soldiers who are protecting them.

I find it very odd that you would describe that in a partisan ideological context.

I do too. I think everyone's taken a bus or a train at some point.
