Media Appearance
Posted by Bill I'll be on Hugh Hewitt's show at 7PM Eastern to discuss the Rathergate report. You can catch the show on a local station or listen online via one of the streams found here. Posted by Bill at January 10, 2005 05:47 PM | TrackBack (1) CommentsI just heard that Mary Mapes and three others were fired at CBS about an hour ago. The AP has an article on it. Nothing happened to Dan however. Posted by: MikeN Uh, MikeN, where have you been? Posted by: Bill from INDC Good job, Bill. Don't let up. Posted by: willow Eh, weak. Radio is so fast-paced, can't develop any points. Posted by: Bill from INDC I didn't expect much, so I wasn't disappointed. I'm glad you're there fulfilling the bloggerist ethical imperative to hold Big Media accountable. I found this reference to "fundamental journalistic practices" hilarious. Hasn't that come to mean the same thing as "myopic zeal" throughout the MSM? Watergate probably inspired most of the people who became journalists since to think that they might one day bring down a sitting president, just like Woodward/Bernstein. Dan Rather himself got where he is by being tough on Richard Nixon, who made it worse by trying to spar with him. I've heard and seen the goal of journalism described as "holding government accountable" extolled so often, without any mention of accuracy and objectivity, I long since gave up on expecting much of either from the MSM. Thank goodness for bloggers! They may think we're all ankle-biters, but a few of them now need lower appendage prostheses as a result. Posted by: AST Got home too late to hear you on Hugh's show, but IMHO he counts as major media. Bernie Goldberg is on Fox now hanging Mapes and excusing 'my good friend Dan'. Bleh. Oh wait, now he's saying Dan corrupted CBS News and being fairly rude to Colmes.
