Another Rock the Vote Update

Posted by Bill

Interesting:

The liars at MTV are using the airwaves to brainwash America’s youth. As a result, the California College Republicans (CCR) scheduled a protest of MTV to confront MTV/Rock the Vote for using the draft to scare young voters. We now see why they chose the fear factor: to elect the Democrat nominee for President to office.

MTV/Rock the Vote called CCR Chairman Michael P. Davidson to deny any association with Rock the Vote’s draft scare tactics. When asked who the person calling was, they would not give a name. The number from which they called (212-846-2609) is a non functioning number in the Viacom system. The anonymous MTV caller repeatedly tried to deny any connection between MTV and Rock the Vote, but the evidence proves otherwise.

Through just cursory research, CCR discovered numerous connections between MTV, Rock the Vote, and the DNC.

The California College Republicans might also want to note the fact that one of the leaders of Rock the Vote is a bona fide Dem operative, while the other is an unaffiliated left-wing activist.

"Non-partisan" indeed.

I didn't really follow the linked story. OK, someone from calling from a Viacom number called the CCR -- but what did they say? What was the point of the call? What do they think prompted it?

Maybe I'm just dense, but it wasn't clear to me.

Well, they are a little obstruse, but if you read it slowly its seems as though they held a protest (linked by Drudge), and someone from Viacom/MTV called them saying that MTV has nothing to do with Rock the Vote's scare tactics or the Dem party.

But obviously, many MTV employees are very partisan themselves.

So you mean the guys behind "Rock the Vote" are a bunch of Democratic propagandists?

And here I was thinking they were a non-partisan election news coverage outfit operating as a noble public service.

CCR might also want to note that the draft scare tactics used by Rock the Vote has a partner. The other group signed onto this effort is Alliance for Security, the head of this group is Bobby Muller. Bobby Muller has an extensive history with John Kerry, first through the Vietnam Veterans against the War where they were both top activists, later the two co founded Vietnam Veterans of America-the only congressionally chartered Vietnam Vets group. Later Muller spun off the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation from the VVA, and it is through the VVAF that Alliance for Security comes from. It is also interesting to look at where some of the funding for the VVAF has come from. http://irreconcilablemusings.typepad.com/main/2004/09/draft_fearmonge.html
This site does not make the link between VVAF/Alliance for Security and the President of both groups, Bobby Muller and his long time ties to John Kerry, but the funding is shown here.
For a more complete pictures with links you can take a look here. http://americangazette.blogspot.com/2004/10/john-kerry-draft-and-threads-of-1971.html
No one is going to convince me that after all the years Muller and Kerry worked together, there is no link at all between Muller's current activity and John Kerry's current campaign.

Isn't this sorta like trying to prove that Dan Rather is partisan. I mean, it's obvious.
