Make of This What You Will

Posted by Bill

Presented without comment:

An external review of how CBS News came to use disputed documents in a report on President Bush (news - web sites)'s military record will probably not be concluded until after the November election so as not to interfere with the presidential race, a top executive said on Tuesday.

I'm not sure if the investigation by the Texas Rangers will proceed at a quicker pace.

UPDATE: Wrong! Ratherbiased has the scoop.

So they air the report with forged memos before the election, but not the investigation into the report?

I think it's clear they DO want to affect the eletion - but only in one direction.

Another example, more clear-cut example of CBS partisanship is its continued airing of Dave Ross.

On that page is a link to his homepage, including his congressional campaign. He is still carried by Westwood One via the CBS Radio Network. The only change is that they state he is no longer on KIRO in Seattle.

Now why would an investigation of an internal CBS matter have any effect on the election?

Because it will reveal details of teh contact between Mary Mapes and the Kerry Campaign.
