The "anti-Semitic" Part is Wildly Inaccurate

Posted by Bill

Someone tell me what Scott McLemee is talking about:

With his anti-Semitic and pornographic obsessions, the journalist may well be in the grip of a severe personality disorder. But if so, it's nothing more severe than one might encounter at a television studio in downtown Washington, D.C., with some blogger eager to grab his or her 15 minutes of fame on the little screen.

The only DC bloggers that I've seen on TV have been Wonkette and Andrew Sullivan (and neither have anything resembling "crazy," thirsty eyes). I was outside a TV studio once, and it certainly wasn't an attempt to get on the "little screen."

So, who the Hell is this guy talking about? And what possesses him to make such a sick analogy?

And who does the hiring at Newsday?

I think that I know the answer to one of those questions, by the way.

UPDATE: Just got this e-mail:

Paranoia doesn't become you ... Third sentence is more likely targeted at a blogger appearing ON TV, not in front of the studio.

I thought that I was making that distinction when I pointed it out. I don't think that he's talking about me, SWWNBNOL or Sullivan, but for the life of me, I'm pretty sure that those are the only bloggers that have set foot anywhere near a TV studio in downtown DC, hence the confusion.

He's stumbling over his own words. He's trying to slam bloggers and GWB and only had a little bit of space to do it in (it IS supposed to be a "book review" after all).

So, he stumbles over himself and tries to tie in the usual Bushitler analogies along with the bloggers in one fell swoop...

...and fails miserably.

Perhaps he was merely talking about himself - after all, here's the Google search on him - and by the second entry, it appears he's tried his hand at blogging...

Can't seem to get on his domain, but the google-cache is rather interesting (and, mentions NewsDay as well...)

(Sorry for the long lines, but neither LINK nor URL seemed to make them links)

Speaking of bloggers on TV, tonight on NBC Nighly News after the debate, you can see Ana Marie (Wonkette) across from John Hinderaker (Hindrocket) from Power Line.

Do you suppose Tom Brokaw will call Hindrocket a "jihadist"?

We are so misunderstood! Kinda like the Wizard of Oz. Everyone thought he was this BIG Scary face with smoke coming out, but really he was just a sweet ole guy behind a curtain.
(Ok, maybe I have been spending too much time watching movies with my 7 yr old.)

HEY! But he DID get the job done!

I think what you're hearing there is just the sound dinosaurs make before they become extinct.

Bad journalists resent bloggers for the same reasons that hookers resent nymphomaniacs.

The amateurs are more enthusiastic, often better, and they give it away for free!

LOL

Geeze! Now I feel all dirty!...;-)

Lysander, try Invisible Inc.- http://mclemee.blogspot.com/ If its the same Scott, he managed to blog for an entire two months! and manages to be feeble, pretentious and graphically dull.
Thank god we have Bill! (at least until Michelle Malkin puts up more pictures of herself)

Bill, :-)

I told you about Newsday, Bill.

Pinkerton's the abberation in that whack shack.

I'd guess he's talking about Michelle Malkin and her appearance on Chris Matthews. But that show is based out of New York, right?

Umm, who is Wonkette?
She keeps on getting referred to but there is no mention on who she is. I don't mean her personel life stuff, but an informative "about" (which about.wonkette.com is not) would be helpfull to those of us who have started blog-surfing this summer.
Thanks.

ack! Did you just name and link to SWWNBNOL?!?

Ahe is a very bad left-leaning humor site that has achieved enormous success by making jokes about penises and anal sex and little else, which is one of the reasons that I can't stand her.

Wonkette is: (a) still stuck in junior high in a locker room sort of way, or (b) a teen comedy gone wrong. Take your pick.
