Watch For It ...

Posted by Bill

Right Moment catches a potential violation of the debate terms by the Kerry Campaign.

Given their tone deaf precedents, this really wouldn't surprise me.

UPDATE: That was quick - "The Faces of Frustration."

Scott points out that it probably doesn't violate the agreement because it was released by the DNC and not the Kerry Campaign.

Well, we'll see if this ad from the DNC materializes...

We should also keep in mind that the Bush camp has the right to pull out of future debates if they believe the Kerry Kamp has violated the rules...

I'm sorry this rule exists...I would love to see several Bush ads using Kerry's words, such as the famous "global test" line...

It's already out

It's out but was put out by the DNC not the Kerry camp which is probably not a violation of the agreement.

Well guess that means the RNC is free to use the "global test" lines as well as some of the other lines now.

Just saw parts of Bush's speech in PA, and I have to say, he responded well to Kerry's debate points, if only he had done it last night during the debate.

I think I like the video! It's called "Faces of Frustration" and rightly so. It is frustrating when your opponent is an asshole!

Posted by: PajamaGuy at October 1, 2004 11:56 AM

I really believe that the Bush campaign is coming out of this debate with far more to use against Kerry.

Kerry can now, just with this one debate alone, be painted as the second coming of George McGovern. Talk about appeasement personified...

Posted by: Another Thought at October 1, 2004 12:23 PM

Also note that the RNC is coming out with its own video Kerry vs Kerry...

Posted by: Another Thought at October 1, 2004 12:42 PM

I think this commercial helps Bush, certainly doesn't hurt him. Just shows his frustrations with Kerry's off-the-wall statements (and flip-flops). It doesn't seem to help Kerry at all. Sort of like how every time they show the picture of Bush in his fighter uniform in his jet when they talk about his National Guard service, lots of women say it makes them want to vote for Bush (cause he was such a hunk). Let the DNC spend LOTS of money playing this video. If this is the best they can do after the debate, they are sunk!

I dont think this ad is flattering to bush but at the same time I really think people kinda of have the same reaction to stuff Kerry says. They just want to shout "stop this nuance BS and give me a real answer".

I think this is about the worst the dems can do from this debate. It was the only real weak point for Bush in the debate since he was essentially on message blah blah.

The Reps though have some fairly serious amunnition.

My prediction bush loses the debate battle by a little, but he wins the debate ad war pretty handily. So net win Bush. But either way not by much since no Kerry supporter's mind will get changed they already know he's flimsy. Might work on swing voters though. But so mighta klondike bar.

I have an idea for the GOP. Take the same faces of frustration the Dems are using but intercut them in after every flip flop. Gives the frustration context.

I just laughed, as I feel the exact same way whenever I hear Kerry or one of his supporters spout his lies. no WMD found..., $200B spent on wrong war..., no connection between OBL & Sadam..., distraction from WOT..., no coalition of allies...

FRUSTRATION!!!! ARGHH!!!

Also RNC would be smart to add the many Kerry flip-flops lines between each face.

Thanks DNC, keep up the good work.... :)

If I'm feeling any frustration this afternoon it is that no one is countering -- via an abundance of filmed and written footage -- the glaring and ongoing Kerry blustering that predictably contradicts the Kerry blustering.

That is, let Kerry speak, and what you get are these ongoing "inaccuracies," to use a Kerry level of B.S. expressions here, as to what Kerry thinks, says, will do, has done, opines, doesn't opine, positions, does not position, etc.: just listen to him bluster with the "it's seared in my memory," and the "I've had one position and one position only," and the "it was late at night and I was..."

Kerry gets, instead, the "popularity win" vote because people are impressed with his performance, and they then don't appear to even question or quantify or evaluate what he actually is saying (well, Republicans do, but Demos definitely do not, but seem to be struck like deer in headlights by the fascination that is the flash, the bright lights, the color of the cars, the 'nice clothes' and fine porcelain crowns, the...).

I was frustrated during the debate with Kerry because he continued to bluster the same preposterousnous...but said nearly nothing, said everything, "seemed Presidential" while revealing his capacity not to govern (Senate record, d'oh), and more.

So, Bush's responses of frustration were something many of us shared. And responded to Kerry in kind, right along with Bush.

BUT, not to suggest that Bush adopt the same Kerry B.S. blustery, just that Bush needs to remain aloof from Kerry's hooks. BECAUSE, that is ALL that Kerry has: hooks. HE IS RELYING ON BUSH RESPONDING WITH VISIBLE FRUSTRATION INORDER TO "Look Presidential." Europeans, highly trendy folks everywhere (Europe and the U.S.) people motivated by their support groups and peer associations on social levels (mostly Democrats, not so much Republicans) are going to be easily "swayed" by this hook of Kerry's, to reinforce their insistence on Kerry as "presidential" and, if anything, hoping to further annoy (and to "hook") more Republicans.

It's NOT SUBSTANCE. Kerry is just spinnin and spinnin and spinnin and people are blinded by appearance of "status". If your treasure is the world and all that "status," then you're gonna' be impressed with all that spinnin' and status ("kerry as presidential..." thing is "status" phenomenon). If you are concerned about substance and reality of responses, you empathize and share in Bush's frustrations.

Notice Kerry is today and yesterday emphasizing that he considers Bush not associated with "reality:" another hook. He's begging Bush to blurt out, "yes, I am!" It's Kerry's stupid little game.
