Demented! Altho to be fair, some of the threads at Lucianne are full of the same sort of human chlamydia

Comparing the occasional micro-rant at L.Com to the offal at DU is like comparing a spitball to an H-Bomb (spitballs having been in the news recently).

L.Com also allows pretty much anyone to post while DU makes you prove beyond a shadow of a doubt you are a lunatic prior to allowing your post.

In a way, DU folks are good for the economy re: job creation since they've necessitated a third shift at the Reynolds Wrap factory.

I can always count on DU for some good laughs. There is a whole thread over there on what country to flee to if Bush is elected (someone should suggest Elbonia just to see how long they debate the pros and cons).

Man, do you think they'll bother moving to Guyana before they drink the Kool-Aid this time? Between the Roe effect and the (hopefully) terminal cases of BDS*, the 2006 midterms should go about 65% Republican.

*Not that I wish death on anybody, but those guys are creepier than a bunch of castrated, shaved headed, waiting for the spaceship in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. freaks. I'm glad they don't actually leave mom's basement.

TallDave:

I'd rather they go to Kneecapia .... ;)

Bill, my man, the memogate thing must have been very good for you because you're pouring on the traffic with this link. I'm totally impressed dude...

- For some good insight as to why the left finds itself in the political wilderness without a moral compass these days give this post by Christopher Hitchins a check:

http://www.johannhari.com/archive/article.php?id=450

- Its an erudite indictment of how good parties and aspirations go bad, and the inexorable consequences, written by a former dyed in the wool Trotskyite. The frenetic hair on fire acting out is inevitable, like manic depressives that can't understand why things get worse and worse the farther they wander from their desperately needed meds (practical headed moral clarity), which they see as cryptic, malicious coral snakes curling through their political corn flakes.....Good read....

If Kerry's elected, I'll be sad for two reasons:

1) Kerry was elected (duh).
2) Lack of DU threads moaning about Bush's reelection.

And the scary part is, I'm not sure which reason would make me saddest.

- FOX just did a piece on the blogger slapdown of CBS's latest gaffe on Brit Hume's Special Report (Ms Cucco and her sons drafting thing). Thats interesting of course. Whats even more interesting is the easy reference to the blogging efforts by a major cable news source. Yet another sign that the journalism world has added the blogsphere to its serious "sources" phonebook....

Ratherfake update: ex-CBS pres. Hewitt says he would do anything to avoid going to Vietnam....believes any father would have done anything to keep his son from going....Mentions the fact that Bill Clinton went to Oxford...and doesn't think anyone, including himself cares a damn about the whole story in the first place...adding "[it] was a terrible report, badly prepared, and should never have been run"...

Ohhhhh, ok....that certainly clears things up

Hunter,

Did you catch the cable 3Q ratings? Fox News beat all others COMBINED.

Amazing.

- TallDave...Yes...nice how the free market works in these things and proof positive for Teh-ray-zaaa that the majority of the American electorate that think her orange-faced boytoy is a loser are not really idiots and scumbags...

- I just watched Humes and his whole panel of "contributers" spend 20 minutes of air time trying to figure out what the hell Kerry ment by his respnse to Diane Sawyer in her interview with Kerry this morning...To wit:

Sawyer: "Then you wouldn't have gone to war in Iraq?"

Kerry: "Knowing what I do now there's no way I would have gone to war...

Sawyer: "But what about then...Knowing what you knew then"?

Kerry: "I would'nt have gone to war then either....President Bush lied to the american people about the WMD's, that Saddam Hussein was an imminent threat...all the reasons he used for going to war in the first place..."

Sawyer: "Then you think the world would be better off if Hussein were still in power"?

Kerry: "No...now hold on....I didn't say that...."

(ect ect ect ect)

If I were, say, someone from lower slobovia watching this 20 minute discussion, where all of Hume's "contributors" labored to try to explain it all, my simple question would be "Why is it so hard for all of you to explain what he said. In fact why do you have to discuss it for 20 minutes..."

The final consensus was, of course, that Kerry is simply scared to death to admit that simple truth and so he continues to try to have it both ways and always tries to shift any questions on his Iraq voting record to the situation in Iraq at the moment...

I don't know, I'm pretty conservative and I didn't see the problem with it. Actually, I thought the internment camp idea was pretty good. Do you think we could really get away with it?

Oh, and the Bible nut was disturbing, I thought all the religous fanatics were supposed to be on our side. Damn!

Oh my!

My internet's been down since mid-morning, so when it came back up a while ago, I started playing ketchup (no sorry, that's somebody else's playing, I was playing catch up). So I read today's posting's, and then I went to read some news. I was scanning down google new's headlines, and imagine my surprise to find out that "IBM creates fastest super model in the world" is posted as a headline from: http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2004-09/30/content_2040571.htm Since the paper is translated to the English from Chinese, the slip makes a wierd kind of sense.

So what are the excuses of the crew that claims Bush is the Anti-Christ? I'm wondering which language that is translated from...

I actually know people that lean this way, but only after you get a few drinks in em. And these rants really do illustrate the point: I see the liberals as good people with kids and jobs and a life and all, and also completely wrong. They see me as some dumb idiot that can't think for myself, and oh-by-the-way, you are evil if you vote for Bush. It's not enough for good people to disagree, they beleive they are right, morally so, and therefore it's ok to hate me and smile if I die a horrible death. And they say conservatives have no heart.
