By the Washington Post, who cites the "internet" for breaking the story and has an interview with Dr. Bouffard, but fails to source INDC Journal. Or Powerline. Oh well.

Related: Think Oliver Willis will believe it now that the WaPo has conducted the interview? Or will he keep spinning? Or will he just pick up and move on without acknowledging the forgery?

The suspense is killing me.

At least take comfort that your story broke the back of the MSM... they just couldn't put on their "I don't see you" goggles and pretend it never happened.

CBS says Rather will do a correction in person if the documents prove false. I can't wait! Maybe he'll announce his immediate retirement, too? Why wait?

Lazy Ass Media can't get off their butts to do SERIOUS INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM and when an ORDINARY CITIZEN breaks a major news story with just 1 friggin' phone call, they interview HIS expert, take the credit and don't even mention INDC. What a kick in the nuts. Next time you link a news story from WaPo.com, just say it came from "The Internet". Assholes. I'm livid. It's sickening, but not surprising.

To be fair, it was a few phone calls.

Posted by: Bill from INDC at September 10, 2004 01:08 AM

Yes, Bill, it was a FEW PHONE CALLS THAT ANYONE WITH ANY JOURNALISTIC SENSE OR INTEGRITY WOULD HAVE MADE.

I am so fucking proud of you, man.

God DAMN.

Bill --
Fortunately, the Post has an ombudsman, a gentleman who is supposed to serve as the reader's advocate. I sent him an e-mail and cc'ed you on it. Attributing this to you specifically strikes me as basic journalistic integrity.

If EVEN the Washington Post and ABCNEWS get it on a story, then liberals can't deny it.

If there is any truth in the Prowler story that the Kerry Camp and DNC were the source that gave the memo to Dan Rather, then we have the Democrat Watergate, or rather the Democrat RAthERGATE. After Watergate, GOP lost control everywhere, even Republican state elected Dem Legislatures for a few years.(See North Dakota)

This could affect the mules in the same way if their Presidental Candidate and National Party get caught forging documents to support tinfoil hat charges.

I think there is the potiental to run RAthER out of town in a manner similar to Jayson Blair and the former head of the NYT.

Bill, You've past the point of no return. You may not have been mentioned this time, but you are on the map in a big way.

Congratulations! And to think, you didn't even have to do anything sleazy to do it.

Bill,
The morning news guy on 101.9 in Chicago have you credit this morning. People are going to remember that you (and others) did this in the future.
