It Is Done

Posted by Bill

Thanks to some cheap interest rates, I just pulled the trigger on the most awesome laptop ever.

(And with their "30-day no questions asked" return policy, it strikes me that I could return it after blogging the convention).

PS - Yeah, yeah, "Sony's aren't rugged," "service sucks," but if I wind up keeping it, I have a 3-year warranty that makes them send some guy to my home to fix it.

What is it with you and repairmen?

Sigh. Somewhere, not far from you, a Powerbook is weeping for what might have been.

Here's a tip, which i learned the hard way about Sony. Send in that warranty registration immediately. In fact, make sure you have proof that you registered within thirty days or whenever the limit is. Because when it breaks down, and it will, if you haven't registered within their stupid arbitrary time limit, THAT WARRANTY AIN'T WORTH TWO DOG SHITS, because they will refuse to honor it, those bastard!

"most awesome laptop ever" for about another four months until newer, awesomer technology comes out, you mean.

acerby aside, nice laptop!

Did I mention that it will run Doom 3 like a dream? And that it has a widescreen high definition display with ultrabright technology, that makes colors more vivid, provides higher contrast between blacks and whites and automatically adjusts the pitch of the monitor to compensate for various light gradiations?

And it will run Doom 3 like a dream?

(Eat your heart out, marble)

I hate you. My Sony VAIO, which I've had for four years, just went to the great junkheap in the sky. Today.

Only 4 years? What happened to it?

Apple may be more reliable (I don't know), but I HATE the interface.
