Remembering Laci
Posted by Bill When Andy from World Wide Rant claimed to have a link to something cheesier than the Bridge for Peace antiwar song, I scoffed and thought, "What a hubristic fool." But after visiting the link, I am shamed. Behold: Remembering Laci, by John Strand. That is some truly awful music. UPDATE: And no, the subject matter does not inoculate it from ridicule. Posted by Bill at July 27, 2004 08:04 AM | TrackBack (1) CommentsYou're welcome. I live to serve. While I realize that the murder of Laci and Connor was horrible, and that people need to deal with it in their own way, those who would do so by making positively crap music should probably do it in the privacy of their own home. Full disclosure: I have commissioned John Strand to write a song for my wake. No, I don't like my friends. Posted by: andy at July 27, 2004 09:00 AM Wow. Some people should not be allowed access to recording technology. Posted by: Farmer Joe at July 27, 2004 09:29 AM "Bravo! Exquisitely bad! Truly Posted by: Leonard Pinth-Garnell at July 27, 2004 11:01 AM I had not heard Bridge for Peace until today. Wow. I feel inspired to, like, do something positive. For now I will sit here rocking back and forth, shed a manly tear and wave a lighter over my head. Posted by: Ghost of a flea at July 27, 2004 11:35 AM No such thing as a "manly tear," boy. Posted by: Bill from INDC Journal at July 27, 2004 11:36 AM Dude, But I also feel guilty. So I owe you for two emotions! Posted by: Rusty Shackleford at July 27, 2004 11:46 AM There are manly tears, Bill. The ones shed after watching Pride of the Yankees, Bang the Drum Slowly or Brian's Song. And don't tell me the tears shed by the veterans reminiscing in Band of Brothers weren't manly. Tears over Bridge for Peace, on the other hand, are clearly tears of a girly-man.
