Blogger Burnout
Posted by Bill This Wired article really encapsulates why I've been feeling burned out lately. "I never can post something and say I'm done for the day," said Zuniga, "because I'm always thinking about the next post. I'm always feeling like I'm letting people down if I don't have any new stuff up on the site." For bloggers like Zuniga, this is where burnout begins to creep in. "I definitely get burnt out," he said. Sometimes "I'll go through the week and I'll go, 'Wow, that was a really bad week.' ... I haven't found a way to control it, to be honest. Either I'm on or I'm not on. I can fake it and maybe people don't notice it, but I know it when I'm not at my best." Amazing. I actually agree with Kos on something. (Via Instapundit) PS - Wasn't I supposed to be on break this week? Posted by Bill at July 9, 2004 10:39 AM | TrackBack (1) CommentsI think I'm burned out on commenting... Posted by: Sharp as a Marble at July 9, 2004 10:52 AM Kos burning out on blogging? Faster please Posted by: JFH at July 9, 2004 11:03 AM As the writer comprehended in Tom Sawyer, "...Work consists of whatever a body is obliged to do and that Play consists of whatever a body is not olbiged to do." I would guess it's hard to enforce a blogger vacation, because as soon as you are obliged to stay quiet, it's just too irresistable to post the all the things you want to say. Posted by: SarahW at July 9, 2004 11:10 AM Hunter Thompson once wrote that writing was like sex. It's only fun for amateurs. "You never see an old whore giggle," he wrote. perhaps the same applies to bloggers. Posted by: bryan at July 10, 2004 08:41 PM |
